DCL uses a sophisticated system involving package ID stickers to determine pick fees, and box charges are efficiently calculated. This system streamlines our operations and ensures accurate billing based on the specific requirements of each order. Below is a detailed explanation of how our package ID sticker system works.

Package ID Format

All package ID stickers used by DCL follow a standardized format for easy identification and processing. The format consists of a 4-digit code followed by a unique number, such as DCLS209580474.

Box Size Charges

Using the package ID sticker, we can determine the correct price for our customers based on the box size. The contract will list the pricing for each box size that is used.

  • DCLS: <500 cubic inches. Small box charge

  • DCLM: 500-999 cubic inches. Medium box charge.

  • DCLL: 1,000 -1,999 cubic inches. Large box charge

  • DCLX: 2,000-3,499 cubic inches. Extra-large box charge.

  • DCLT: 3,500-4,999 cubic inches. Titanic box charge

  • CUSB: Customer-owned box, no box charge

  • CUSC: Customer-owned box, no box charge

  • DCLP: Pallet charge

  • DCLQ: Pallet charge

Pick Charges

The 4-digit code at the beginning of the package ID also determines how pick fees are applied. The contract sets the unit pick fee, case pick fee, and pallet pick fee.

  1. Small Box (DCLS): Charged by unit picks.

  2. Medium Box (DCLM): Charged by unit picks.

  3. Large Box (DCLL): Charged by unit picks.

  4. Extra-Large Box (DCLX): Charged by unit picks.

  5. Titanic Box (DCLT): Charged by unit picks.

  6. Customer-Owned Box (CUSB): charged by unit picks.

  7. Customer-Owned Box (CUSC): charged at a case pick level.

  8. Pallet (DCLP): Charged at the pallet pick level.

  9. Mixed Pallet (DCLQ): Charged as a mixed pallet.
