At DCL, we have robust capabilities for managing lot codes and expiration dates to ensure accurate inventory tracking and timely shipping of products.

Whether your business needs detailed lot code tracking, prefer lot codes recorded during shipping, or need expiration dates managed effectively, our system is designed to meet these diverse requirements while ensuring accuracy and compliance throughout the supply chain.

Here are the many ways DCL handles lot code requirements.

How does DCL manage lot codes and expiration dates?

1. Inventory by Lot Code

For clients who require precise lot code tracking, DCL can catalogue products based on their lot codes. When an order is received, the lot code is included in the order details. During the verification stage at DCL, the specified lot code is recorded, and our system checks it against the order to confirm that the correct lot code is being shipped.

2. Choosing Lot Codes at Shipping

Alternatively, DCL can select the lot code to ship and record the lot used during the shipping process. This method deducts the correct part and lot code from inventory, ensuring accurate tracking and inventory management.

3. Lot Code Recording without Inventory

Some customers may not require their products to be catalogued by lot code but still want the lot code recorded when the product is shipped. DCL can accommodate this requirement by saving the lot code in our database without affecting inventory management.

4. Managing Expiration Dates

DCL can also efficiently handle lot codes with expiration dates. Our system can inventory products by both lot code and expiration date. When picking products for shipping, the system automatically prioritizes items with expiration dates ending soonest, ensuring they are shipped before expiration.

Additionally, DCL can set lot codes to automatically expire after a specified timeframe. This feature helps in quality control and compliance, as our system restricts shipments involving expired lot codes, preventing potential issues with outdated products from reaching customers.
